OWLS Program "BARK Rangers"
The Mahaska County Conservation invites adults of any age to the O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier Souls) program on Friday, October 25 from 11:00 am -12:00 pm for a presentation about our new BARK Ranger program.
The BARK Ranger program creates fun opportunities in parks for dogs and their owners right here in Mahaska County. Come and learn all about it!

Coffee Club at the ELC
Join us at Mahaska County Conservation's monthly "Coffee Club at the ELC" on Friday, November 1 from 9:00-10:00 am. Homemade refreshments will be served along with freshly brewed coffee and hot chocolate.
At the Coffee Club, we have a great time visiting and learning about fascinating things about nature and Mahaska County Conservation.
***Bring a cup or mug that has Thanksgiving decorations on it to be entered in a door prize!

Knee-High Naturalists "Woolly Mammoths"
Bring your children ages 5 and younger out to the Environmental Learning Center on Wednesday, November 6 from 9-10 am for the monthly Knee-High Naturalist program. This FREE program is designed to help foster learning about nature and exploring the outdoors. We ask that adults bringing children remain with them during the program.
On November 6th, the program is titled "Woolly Mammoths". Kids will learn about woolly mammoth that once roamed the area. We will visit a life-sized skeleton, investigate real mammoth bones, and listen to a story.

Homeschool Science Lab "States of Matter" CLASS IS FULL!
DUE TO THE AMOUND OF SPACE WE HAVE FOR THIS ACTIVITY, THE CLASS IS FULL.
The Mahaska County Conservation Board invites homeschool and online school families to the monthly Homeschool Science Lab on Wednesday, November 13 from 10:00-11:00 am at the Mahaska County Environmental Learning Center.
The topic for November will be a "States of Matter". Kids will explore states of matter: solids, liquids and gases. One activity may be a little messy, so dress appropriately for this kind of fun. It is a great lesson for all ages!

March of the Penguins
All ages are invited to come to the Environmental Learning Center on September 17th from 1:00-2:30 pm to watch a documentary about penguins. The movie documentary showing on this day is "March of the Penguins". It is a story about the yearly jouney taken by the emperor penguins in Antarctica.

OWLS Program "Nature Notes From Cedar Bluffs"
The Mahaska County Conservation invites adults of any age to the O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier Souls) program on Friday, November 22 from 11:00 am -12:00 pm for a guest presentation about Cedar Bluffs State Preserve.
Guest speaker, Robert Leonard, will share about some of his volunteer projects and fascinating things has seen on his daily excursions through Mahaska County's Cedar Bluffs State Preserve. It is an amazing natural area!
