Quercus Wilderness Area

Looking for a shady place to hike or camp? Then Quercus, (which is Latin for oak), Wilderness Area is the place for you! Located 7 miles south of Oskaloosa off G71, this area is dominated by oak trees, along with other hardwoods, and is underlain by a sandy soil similar to the Loess Hills in Western iowa. There are 5 primitive campsites adjacent to the trail that winds through the area, each provided with a fire ring and picnic table.
